Mr. And Mrs. H.
As I was enjoying this visit to Thai Orchid, it occurred to me that I would up-grade my review. It's not often that I leave a restaurant and want to gush about it, but this visit it hit me. I added a star, and here's why:
Summer Roll: Very fresh! The rice wrapper was perfect! Not gummy. Not chewy. Cool, crisp lettuce, balanced with fresh, fragrant cilantro, and the shrimp inside were PERFECTLY cooked! No only were they tender, but they contrasted the cool lettuce, by still being slightly warm. And kids, what that meant to me is... Fresh and lovely!
In addition to the delivery of two beautiful Summer Rolls on that plate, they provided the freshest garnish on the side... a luscious, green lettuce leaf, and slices of fresh, juicy, aromatic oranges.
The Jade curry was just as fresh as usual, with the same, spot-on cooked shrimp, various fresh veggies, and even the carrots, they were carefully cut into star patterns! (no frozen factory waffle cuts there!) We asked to be sure this was spicy in preparation, and they obliged. It was not wimpy, but it wasn't so spicy as to not taste the food and enjoy it.
The Thai Spicy noodles were sweet and savory, and the shrimp and chicken were the same, quality preparation.
The final item, the Rama Chicken. All fresh, generous portion. I will say that this dish is particularly sweet. Nobody in our party cared for it, but I bet if you have a youngster, they'd happily chow down on the veggies and chicken in this dish. The sweetness is fruit-based, I think pineapple/mango, so it's not food coloring and sugar-syrup. Healthy-sweet.
They still have a mid-90's S.R. and our glasses on the table (before filling with water), had rust spots and the walls really still need some help, but the quality of this meal put the extra star, anyway. -

Pretty good Thai food. I've had better, but I've also had worse. I've only been here a couple of times, but both times for lunch. The service seems to be a bit slow even when the place is less than half full. Though their noodle and rice entrees are a little nondescript, I do really enjoy their Tom Yum soup. If you like "hot" food (spicy), the Tom Yum will absolutely clear out your sinuses. I would eat here just to get the soup.
I saw another reviewer make the comment that Thai Orchid's food tastes "more like Chinese food" than Thai food. Although most of my experiences with Chinese food have been the Americanized version, I would kind of agree that TO's food tastes like generic, americanized asian food. I have had authentic Thai food, prepared by a friend's mother who immigrated from Thailand in the '70s. Thai Orchid's food is not that, but it's certainly edible. But if you go for lunch, just don't do it on a tight schedule. -

Food okay. Below average in our opinion. Servers were not as some would say,on top of it. The biggest issue we had was some random person off the street walked in and then walked in the kitchen. Definitely was not staff. Probably won't be returning.

Sometimes when you're traveling for business, it can be hard to know where to stop for a bite.
We decided to give Thai Orchid a try, and although this was not the best Thai I've ever had, it was good food and service was decent. -

Food was authentic & delicious, and the service was great too! The decorations inside are pretty unique & it's very clean!
